"Bottles + Cans" by Joe Iurato.

If Norman Rockwell made street art? Today's art world is saturated with subject matter  that is a reflection of our times, (as art tends to do throughout history) mindless consumerism, political and social unrest, the negative side of social media, pretty much the negative side of everything. Joe Iurato bucks this trend, communicating a "Rockwell" like feeling with a simple, positive representation of things he loves, that we all love. Our children, (especially their curiosity and mischievousness)  our passions, and our freedoms.

Iurato has gained notoriety worldwide with his clever use of stencil art on wood cuts which he places in urban environments, he then uses photography to bring his wood cut characters to life. His unique take on street art has secured him major shows in the US, Paris, Berlin, London and Japan. Multiple brands have collaborated with him from fashion (Nike, Kenneth Cole, Adidas) to sports (NBA, ESPN) to name a few. He has also completed major large scale installations globally, including, for museums and Wynwood Walls, Miami.

Joe Iurato's first NY solo show, "Bottles + Cans" celebrates two life long passions, art and wine. Iurato is a trained Sommelier, and has held wine director positions in many prestigious restaurants. For him it was a natural crossover into an art career as he feels he views both worlds with the same creative eye. He will be turning Castle Fitzjohns Gallery into a total immersive environment with his juxtaposed characters installed in a way that gives the illusion you are walking into their world. The illusion is completed with a life size  instillation of a Bistro that the audience gets to interact with to complete the narrative. The show will run until July 17th 2018.
